Release Notes for December 2019:
During December, we released 2 major updates to our platform. The first is Tag Management which enables the management of Tags by Administrators and has a dedicated Page "Tag Management". The second is an upgrade to Saved Searches and Access Profiles.
1. Tag Management:
The Key functions are as follows:
- New Administrator only Tag Management page
- Administrators can directly create Tags and Tag Groups from this page
- Administrators can edit, delete, see usage, Tag Counts and merge Tags
- Can changes the sort and render order of Tags by dragging Tags on the table
- New feature called Tag Groups
- Tags are now added to Tag Groups. Tag Groups can enforce an organisations business rules by requiring a minimum number of Tags on specified document types and be aligned with business units if desired.
2. Saved Searches and Access Profiles
Previously, access profiles applied to a Saved Search granted access only on the Saved Search itself, not the contents of the Saved Search. A user would only see the results of a Saved Search as though they had performed the search themselves.
This was not desirable as organisations couldn't only use Saved Searches with access profiles applied to them to grant access, as nothing would appear in them as the user couldn't see anything to start with.
CS-VUE has wanted Saved Searches to be a powerful and dynamic way to control permissions, and they now work precisely in this way.
An access profile applied to a Saved Search will grant permissions to entities based on an admins visibility of the Saved Search results. All results within the organisation will be shown and permission granted on them all.
Permission on the Saved Search itself (title, saved search parameters) is granted only to the Saved Search owner.
Users using Saved Searches where they haven't been granted an access profile on it will continue to work as they did previously. Where the results and permissions of the Saved Search are limited to what the user would see if they ran the search themselves.
